Today I intend to finish the chimney so I can get it painted tomorrow, well that's the plan Stan.
I am using paper clay and I made a little brick shape out of cardstock and brushed on super glue so it would stay strong. It's going good so far but I noticed that the clay dries on the cardstock so every so often I have to scrap the sides of it otherwise it gets thicker and makes wider grout lines. Will post when it's painted
I haven't paid much attention to my blog for a very long time but I'm in a different stage in my life and a new avenue in my art. I have to be making art no matter what and not sure how it happened but I stumbled into the dollhouse miniature world. I have always loved miniature things and made small items for my Artdolls to hold or sit on etc. This is a more intense world of miniatures for me and I love it. I'm working on my first ever dollhouse kit ' The Orchid' by Greenleaf. Very small house because I didn't know it its something I would be good at or like. Well it took over my entire life for a few months so I guess I liked it. I decided on a 50's English cottage but its morphing into an America influenced English cottage. Now I think of it as mine and Matt's cottage that we would live in if we both built a house together, as I'm English and he's American. Its going slow because I keep getting urges to make something for the house instead of finishing the house. Some of what I make won't even fit in the house but I make it anyway. I'm having fun and all my artistic juices are being replenished. For the next few weeks I am going to bring my blog up to date on my work so stay tuned.
